Short Description

NESH is a medium term (3-12 months) womens housing scheme which aims to provide low cost supported housing for women who are migrants with non English speaking background whether or not they have dependant children. Women or their children with a disability may be considered for accommodation but must be able to live / care for themselves independently. NESH is planning to upgrade one property for disabled access and living.

More Details

. NESH is fully funded by Department of Community Services, through Supported Accommodation Assistance Programme, whilst houses were allocated to NESH by Department of Housing through Women's Housing Programme.
. The houses are in the Fairfield / Liverpool area. Which house will be
allocated to which woman depends on two factors:
. Woman's needs (level of support, specific allocation need)
. Vacancy available
. NESH is run by Migrant Non English speaking background workers. It has only 3 permanent Staff members, two staff members on call, and is supported by Management committee members who have a special concern for the issues of Migrant women's housing and their support needs.
