Since its formation in 1952, The Sunnyfield Association has provided a range of services for people who have an intellectual disability. These services include accommodation, training and employment and community access programs.

Sunnyfield operates five businesses in Allambie Heights and Chatswood, employing approximately 230 people who have an intellectual disability and provide supported accommodation for 170 people in hostel type residences or houses in the local community as well as 130 people using casual respite. They also operate a community access service and respite services for over 700 people across Sydney, the Central Coast and New England areas who, because of their level of disability, are unable to work in Sunnyfield's business services.
