The providers have a background in Horticulture and Horticultural Therapy. The operator has experience as being a Direct Care Worker for people with disabilities.
They aim to design and create functional, yet beautiful gardens that enable people with and without disabilities to attain the full benefits that gardens have to offer. This requires consideration of the varying aspects and barriers individuals may encounter during their day to day life, and interpreting those into a garden which is ideally suited for the user. For example, a garden that requires garden beds that are accessible for arthritic sufferers or wheelchair users; or perhaps emphasis on particular senses such as sound, smell and touch for a person who is visually impaired. They also specialise in low allergen gardens

The fee scale at gardenfunKtion is structured in a way so that it is competitive with that of mainstream gardening but offering the value of specialised services. They offer these in the way of but not limited to on-site consultation, design and documentation - simple sketches or detailed drawings, existing garden modifications, garden makeovers and maintenance services.
