A national telephone advisory service for people who provide care and are concerned about the behaviours of people with dementia and any issues around accessing or providing respite.

. The service provides confidential comprehensive advice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
. It is funded by the Commonwealth Government

The service can assist and provide:
. information about dementia and available resources
. information about behaviours of concern
. practical strategies for responding to behaviours of concern
. contacts to appropriate services in the caller's area

Behaviours of concern may include:
. resistance to care
. agitation
. distress
. restlessness
. wandering
. inappropriate toileting practices
. inappropriate sexual behaviour
. socially withdrawn
. verbal or physical aggression
