Short Description

Family Advocacy is an independent, community based social advocacy organisation which works across New South Wales. Their mission is to attain positive social roles for a child or an adult who has a developmental disability.

Additional Info

More Details

Their mission is achieved through strengthening the knowledge, role and influence of families in the community.

Their work is directed towards enabling and supporting families to speak up for opportunities for people with a disability to enjoy the same environment, lifestyle and living conditions that are available to the majority of Australians. This means they support the philosophy and practice of inclusion.

Family Advocacy provides advocacy advice and information and referral over the telephone and via email - where that approach is preferred. People from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds can be assisted via the Telephone Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS)
