More Details
Structure
* The six air cell section is encased in high quality shaped memory foam base with cut out sections for thighs positioning
* Available in a two sizes
Cover
* The cushion is covered in a two way stretch PU top cover for infection control
Controller
* The main controller has its own control panel and comes with a case which can be strapped to the back of the seat
* A clear plastic panel allows a carer to have full control over the operation of the system
* The controller is powered by a Lithium Ion battery which provides over 14 hours of remote alternating power off a full 4 hour recharge
* If the battery runs low on power, a safety system engages, transferring the mode to static and locking off all valves ensuring the user is safely supported
* The hand controller allows the user to easily manage pressure settings, alternation times and mode selections all within easy reach.
Charger
The charger has a slot plug design which allows for a variety of international plugs to be fitted if the user is travelling overseas
Factors To Consider
* All cushions must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct choice and depth of foam, correct inflation level) , a different product may need to be considered
* Ensure that the item is not accidentally placed upside down or back to front
* It is advisable that a health professional be consulted when considering a suitable pressure care product
* As with other pressure care cushions ? care needs to be taken by the health professional in regards to the user's profile on the seating system and in the wheelchair especially in regards to height and how the legs and body interact with the support frame
* The cushion needs to be stable and the user's needs to be well supported
Maintenance
Cleaning
Wipe down with a damp cloth or with an antibacterial wipe if there is an infection control issue on the top cover of the seat cushion.
The cell system is fully modular and Cells can be individually replaced if damaged.
For high use or after a year or two the Lithium Polymer battery will need replacement. This is simple to do and extra batteries are carried in stock.
Standards
Some assistive technology needs to meet Australian or other standards. Standards may relate to materials, manufacturing and installation. Products that meet Australian or international standards will have written certification. To find out if a product meets Australian Standards ask the supplier to show you the certificate.
