A national organisation concerned with ageing and the interests of older people.
The objectives include:-
. Promoting standards of quality aged care
. Promotion and protection of rights and well being of the aged person.
. Education and support of practitioners in the field of aged care.
. Preparation and presentation of the case for quality aged care to
government.
. Dissemination of information
. Provision of a resource of expertise in the field of aged care
. Liaison with other similar bodies
. Bringing to the attention of the whole community, problems faced by frail and aged people with disabilities and their carers.
Membership to Geriaction covers voting rights, reduction in fees to
educational programs and conferences and subscription to "Geriaction" a quarterly magazine.
