Respite care can be provided in the following ways:-
. Host family respite care provides relief for carers of younger people with disabilities by placing the family member with a volunteer host family for short periods of time.
. Peer support respite care provides relief for carers of young people with with disabilities by organising volunteers of the same age as the person being cared for to arrange social outings and other recreational activities.
. Centre-based respite care ensures relief for carer of frail aged or young people with disabilities by providing meals and social activities in community centres during the day.
. In-home respite care provides relief to carers of the frail aged or young people with disabilities by providing a relief carer in their home for short periods.
