The Duke of Edinburgh's award scheme is available to any young person
between the ages of 14-25 years. There are three standards of awards,
bronze, silver and gold, and each contains sections including service, skills, expedition and physical recreation.

The scheme does not regard physical disability as a bar to entering for an award so long as the person stands to gain from carrying out the programme, and will actively encourage and support a young person with a disability to participate.
There are fees for becoming a registered operator as well as an annual affiliation fee
Students also pay to join and are provided with a record book and insurance for the activities they do during the program.
