The DWA:
* Spends large amounts of funds each year to further develop special equipment eg Sit-Skis, Swing Bo's and Outriggers.
* Works in association with the Australian Professional Snow Sport Instructors Associations.
* Association to ensure all accredited ski instructors are trained in methods used to teach people with disabilities.
* Instigated a Ski Guides Program designed to assist skiers with a disability with on and off loading of lifts and on-slope assistance.
* Has built a three bedroom unit (10 to 12 people) lodge, motel units up to 3 people fully contained at Jindabyne catering for members with a disability and the community at large.

Membership
* Provides tangible benefits in terms of concessions on lessons, ski passes and certain hire equipment.
* Individual membership is for members who have a permanent disability and not able to participate in winter sports without the additional cost or assistance.
* Associate membership is for people who are supporters of Disabled WinterSport Australia
