Short Description

ACE has been formed from the merging of two organisations, Deaflink and Deafness Resources Australia. It administers the National Relay Service (see 91.69). Their philosophy is to encourage independence empowerment through communication and information.

ACE services are as follows:
* The NATIONAL RELAY SERVICE (ACE.NRS) provides a relay service through one number for the cost of a local call every day of the year, twenty-four hours a day. The service relays calls for deaf, hearing impaired and speech impaired people to and from the wider community.
* The NATIONAL DEAFNESS INFORMATION (NDIS) is an Internet Based information service and it contains up to date lists about Deafness and hearing impairment including resources and information about conferences.
* DEAFNESS RESOURCES AUSTRALIA (DRA) sells deafness related products such as TTYs, technology, books, videos, and other promotional items. Trained staff are available to provide experienced advice for different customer groups and to provide displays at conferences.
