Short Description

Handital is the Association for Families and Friends of People with a Disability who are of Italian origin. It is a non-government, non-profit voluntary organisation established in 1983 in order to assist and support people with disabilities and their carers.

Handital's services are available to people who:
- are a person with a physical disability and/or with a mild, moderate or severely intellectual disability, and/or
- a carer/friend of a person with a disability.

Objectives
* Promote the needs, rights and well being of people with disabilities and their carers in the community and in society in general.
* Provide information about social, medical, educational and financial benefits which they are entitled to.
* Ensure they are not socially isolated by virtue of language and cultural barriers.
* To liaise with both government and non-government agencies in order to promote the welfare of people with disabilities and their carers.

* Educational, recreational and social activities e.g. Young adults social group.
* Advocacy
