Short Description

X10 environmental control systems allow control of electrical appliances such as lamps, heaters and fans. X10 systems send signals through the existing house wiring and may be used in conjunction with some other environmental control units to allow alternative access (for example switch access) to operate appliances.

X10 Equipment
X10 Infrared Transmitter and Receiver
. The X10 Infrared Transmitter and Receiver work as a unit so that trainable infrared environmental equipment eg the Prog III, Amber and Relax can be used to control mains powered appliances and lights.
. The transmitter contains pre stored codes for a large number of televisions and videos.
. The transmitter can be used to directly send X10 signals to infrared receiver units.
. An 8 in 1 version is available and can send X10 signals to both infrared and radio receivers.
.The infra red receiver is connected to a standard power point to allow signals to be sent from the transmitter to the X10 modules.

X10 Modules
. X10 modules provide remote on / off control for any 240 volt appliance.
. Any appliance that plugs into a standard house power point can be used with the X10 modules.
Method of use:
. The appliance, eg a lamp, is plugged into the module.
. The module is then plugged into any standard power point.
. Each module has 2 dials for setting codes. One dial has the letters A to E and the other has numbers from 1 to 16. Using a small screwdriver, codes on the modules are set and provide an individual identifier or address for the appliance eg A1or C8. The same letter code is set on the transmitter and when the appropriately numbered switch is pressed the appliance will be turned on or off.
Range of modules
. Appliance Module for TV, fan, air conditioner.
. Lamp Module for controlling bedroom, living room and family room table lamps. Lamps connected to this module can be dimmed. This module cannot be used with fluorescent lights.
. Wall Switch Module for automation of indoor or outdoor lights includes dimming function.
. Fluorescent Light Switch Module.

X10 Radio Transmitter
. The X10 Radio Transmitter is used in conjunction with the X10 Radio Transceiver.
. The Radio Transmitter is a pocket sized, battery powered wireless remote control that can operate up to 16 modules. It can be easily carried around the house.
. The transmitter is not compatible with infrared environmental control equipment.

X10 Radio Transceiver Module
. The Radio Transceiver module converts radio signals to X10 signals and sends them through the house wiring to control appliances plugged into the modules.
. The Radio Transceiver is plugged into a power point allowing the X10 Radio Transmitter to operate appliances connected to X10 modules.

CP 290 Home Automation Interface
. The PC Interface controls up to 256 lamps or appliances.
. Software provided with the Interface is used to set up a program or schedule that can be downloaded to the Interface. The Interface can then be disconnected from the computer.
. The Interface can also directly control 8 lamps or appliances by means of rocker switches on the Interface.
. When the Interface is connected to the computer, the supplied software can be used to control appliances via the computer.
. The computer interface connects to the computer via a serial port.
. Both Macintosh and PC versions are available.
