MISSION
Diversional and Recreation Therapy Australia (DRTA) is committed to promoting, fostering and advancing the development of the profession of Diversional and Recreation Therapy (DRT) in Australia and internationally. Its mission is to ensure that the practice of Diversional and Recreation Therapy continues to be viable and relevant, contributing to the wellbeing of clients and the community, while encouraging education, professional and personal development in its members.

PHILOSOPHY
Diversional therapy practitioners provide, facilitate and co-ordinate leisure and recreational activities which are designed to support, challenge and enhance the psychological, spiritual, social, emotional and physical wellbeing of individuals who experience barriers to participation in leisure and recreational pursuits affecting their quality of life.

Membership services and benefits include:
Forward thinking and outward looking professional organisation
11 Newsletters per year
Workshops and Continuing Educational Programmes
Discounted prices for members
Annual National Convention
Annual National Conference
Eligibility to attend Regional Group meetings and Special Interest Groups, such as the Mental Health Group, Hospital Interest Group or the DRT Co-ordinators Group.
