Short Description

The Homeless Persons Information Centre (HPIC) is a telephone information and referral service that directs those in the community who are homeless, or at risk of being homeless, to the services that may assist them. It provides professional assessments and referrals for clients seeking accommodation and support services within NSW.

Additional Info

More Details

The service is provided directly by the City of Sydney. HPIC is in constant communication with other services ensuring up to date information on service requirements and availability in NSW.

The City of Sydney's Homeless Persons Information Centre can make referrals for individuals, couples and family groups over 18 years of age. HPIC referral officers prefer to speak to the client directly which allows clients to express their own needs and experiences, and allows HPIC to gain the individual's permission to disclose personal details in making a referral to other services.

Clients are also able to seek information anonymously from HPIC, but the service may not be able to assist with a referral.
