Home Instead Senior Care is a private non medical provider of home care services for older people living in Northern Sydney and on the Northern Beaches These services are available from two hours a day up to 24 hours, seven days a week including weekends and holidays. Other Home Instead services are located throughout Sydney and Australia.

* Home Instead specialises and focuses on non medical home care services as well as one on one care in residential aged care facilities.
* Their clients choose the services and can change them to suit their daily needs
* Services can start immediately
* Services include companionship, personal assistance with showering and dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, errands and incidental transport.
* The services can be arranged for as little as two hours per visit, or as many as 24 hours a day
* Short term, occasional or long term care is available seven days a week.
Services can reduce or expand as client's needs change
* Home Instead staff are accessible 24/7 every day of the year to respond to every need.

Caregivers
* Undergo a thorough screening process
* They are mature people who have cared for others and have a passion and interest in older people
* Average age is 48yrs and caregivers come from various professional, cultural and family backgrounds. Many are bi-lingual.
* All caregivers are Insured by Home Instead for worker's compensation and public liability

Orientation and Training
* All caregivers undergo an orientation programme which involves Safety Training, Manual Handling, legal requirements and procedures for Home Instead Senior Care
* Caregiver training focuses on a person centred approach in caring for all clients
* After completing the Orientation Programme, the caregivers are expected to
complete Home Instead's 3 phase training programme, which is Growth through Reading and Development, within the first 12 months of employment. The GRAD 3 Training Programme has been developed by Kings College in Queensland and teaches competencies from the Certificate III in Aged Care
* Once they have completed GRAD 2 they are then invited to attend the Dementia specific training programme which consists of four modules. This training has been developed with Alzheimer's Australia in Queensland specifically for Home Instead

Price Guide

Hourly rate is approx $42.00 with a fixed rate of approx $204.00 for an 8 hour overnight service. Transport is $0.88 per km when a caregiver uses their car to transport a client or to do shopping or other errands on behalf of the client
There are no additional charges for evenings or weekends
