More Details
The hair tie can be used by sliding the toggle to create a loop big enough to fit over the user's head. It is then placed over the user's head and positioned like a necklace. The hair tie is then moved so it sits above the ears and at the nape of the neck (like a headband). One end of the elastic is secured, while the user slides the toggle backwards, closing the loop over the hair. The loose end is then wrapped around the base of the pony tail. The elastic holds itself in place.
Method Of Use
See website (for instructions) and web link (for video demonstration).
Method One
1. Slide the toggle to create a loop big enough to fit over your head. (Your teeth are useful for helping to achieve this.)
2. Slide the loop of the elastic over your head and move it to sit around your neck like a necklace, with the long end hanging down your chest. Move the hair at the back of your head to sit on top of the hair tie. Then pull the hair tie up so that it sits above your ears and at the nape of your neck (like a headband). Make sure the toggle is at the top of your forehead.
3. Wrap the long end of the hair tie around your impaired limb, using it to keep tension in the elastic.
4. While holding tension (you may need to pull) with your impaired limb on the long end, use your hand to slide the toggle and loop backwards closing the loop over your hair.
5. As you slide the toggle and loop closed and pull downwards with your impaired limb on the long end, the 1-UP catches all your hair into a pony tail.
6. When you have the pony tail secured, carefully release the long end from around your impaired limb. Wrap the remaining elastic cord tightly around (and around) the base of the pony tail. The elastic holds itself in place.
For high ponytails it works best if you hold your head upside down, for lower ponytails it works better holding your head upright.
Method 2:
1.Slide the toggle to create a loop big enough to fit over your head (your teeth are useful for helping to achieve this).
3. Sit down and carefully place the long end of the hair tie in between your toes. Ensure you grip tightly with your toes and avoid the long end flicking back on you.
4. Slowly stand up, holding tension with your toes, use your hand to slide the toggle and loop backwards closing the loop over your hair.
5. As you slide the toggle and loop closed and stand straight, the 1-UP catches all your hair into a pony tail.
6. When you have the pony tail secured, carefully release and hold the long end from in between your toes. Wrap the remaining elastic cord tightly around (and around) the base of the pony tail. The elastic holds itself in place.
Considerations
Caution
* As the 1-Up is made of elastic and solid objects, there is a risk of eye or facial injuries if it is used incorrectly
* The user must insure they retain hold of the hair tie while creating a pony tail
