Most wheelchair models come with the option of a tray. Wheelchair trays are removable and usually either fit into slots in the armrests, screw in or attach via clamps. Some trays fold down out of the way, to the outside of the armrest.

. A tray maybe used for eating, reading or to support a communication aid or computer. However, it may be preferable to use a wheelchair with desk armrests or remove the armrests all together and move in close to a table.
. The user may need assistance to fit and remove the tray.
. It's more difficult to propel the chair and reach for objects while the tray
is in place.
. An alternative is a lap tray, that rests on the lap and does not attach to
the wheelchair.
. A transparent tray may be beneficial for some wheelchair users.
