EnableNSW (Aids and Equipment Program) and RAPS (Rehabilitation Appliance Programme) are two government sponsored schemes which provide equipment, free of charge or at a subsidised cost, to people with a disabillty who meet the eligibility requirements.

EnableNSW (Aids and Equipment Program)
* Provides equipment to assist people with a disability to live at home
* Assessments for specific equipment must be carried out by a health professional who sends a report to Enable along with the client's application
RAPS (Rehabilitation Appliance Program)
* The Department of Veteran Affairs operates a Rehabilitation Appliance Programme (RAPS) which provides equipment free of charge and home modifications to eligible veterans or war widows.
* In general, DVA requires assessments for specific equipment or home modifications to be carried out by the preferred health professional.
* The client should initially discuss their needs with the GP who can refer the client to an occupational therapist directly or through DVA. The OT will assess the clinical needs and make recommendations (if appropriate) to DVA
