Short Description

An electrically operated hoist which is designed to lift a person from a sitting position into a supported standing position for transfer. The lifting mechanism and base width adjustability are electrically operated using a hand held control. Can also be used as a rehabilitation walker by lifting the foot platform. A Transporter seat is an option.

Method Of Use

This stand up lifter is designed to assist with the stand transfer of a person from a seated position to a seated position. They need to have the ability to weight bear to some extent.

The use of the underarm torso sling, weight bearing footplate and a cushioned, contoured knee pad provide the three points of support. It is preferable if the person can hold onto the hand grips to assist the standing process.

This style of lifter is useful for toiletting and dressing tasks as it provides full access for attending to lower garments.

Boom
The lifting boom incorporates two attachment pieces for the sling and two handles for the occupant.
Mast
The hoist mast is made of stainless steel and has a rectangular steering handle attached to it.
Knee Pad
Mounted at the base of the mast is a padded upholstered knee pad. A leg strap for securing the knee against the pad is an option
Footplate
This is situated between the adjustable legs at the base of the mast. It has two strips of slip resistant material to assist in foot placement.
Castors
Swivel style with lockable castors on the back.
Controls
Handheld on an extendable cord.
A magnet attachment on the control unit allows the controls to be attached at any point along the mast or boom during use.
Power Source
. The battery housing is attached to the base of the mast.
. The 24 volt battery is lifted out to be charged and connected to the battery charger,
. This requires the hoist to be stored with access to a power point.
. An audible warning signal is activated during use when the battery charge is reduced to fifty percent of capacity.
Slings
. Two slings are available for use with this hoist.
. An underarm one band sling of foam to be used when weight is taken through the lower limbs and feet are supported on the footplate.
. A full support sling with extensions that fit under the legs and are attached to the spreader bar to offer more support from the hoist and less weight is required to be taken through the lower limbs and feet.
Application
. May be suitable for bariatric use up to the specified load capacity

? An automatic cut out switch in the event of the boom encountering any resistance.

Not suitable for users unable to take partial weight through their lower limbs and feet.
