More Details
What does the Hotline do?
It is a referral service and not a resolution service. It relies on the relevant Commonwealth, State or territory Government taking responsibility for addressing and resolving the issues raised in any report. The relevant government authority will investigate the claim and work with the service concerned to stop the abuse or neglect.
Anyone can contact the hotline.
The Hotline is operated by an independent non government organisation funded by the Commonwealth Government.
What is abuse?
To abuse someone is to harm or hurt them in some way and is a violation of their human or civil rights.
