Short Description
A mattress system incorporating a Micro-Stimulation-System for pressure sore prevention and pain therapy. It is an individually adjustable positioning system. The components are designed to individually adapt to the patients bodily contours and movements. The system can adjust to profiling beds. Available in standard and cot sizes.

More Details
Function
Prevention of pressure sores
Treatment of pressure sores (up to grade III)
Pain therapy
Thevo-Adapt incorporates active side elements on each side of the bed. Some active side elements are connected across the bed by fibreglass hollow tubes called laths. These laths are positioned according to the individuals pressure relief requirements. Special low pressure zones (without laths) are created for the shoulders, buttocks and heels.
Plastic adaptors are placed through to side elements to connect with the laths. The adaptors are turned to adjust the system to the natural contours of the user's body and relieve body areas at risk as required. 3 or 4 spring wings (spring suspension) are located on each fibreglass lath to perfectly suit the body contours of the patient. This is all set up to provide an anatomically correct body alignment and to guarantee optimum pressure distribution.
Structure
The system consists of two main components ie adjustable base system and upper foam mattress
Adjustable system comprising:
24 Active Side Elements (ASE)
26 Adaptors
13 Flexible fibreglass laths (FGF-laths)
46 Spring Wings at a width of 90 cms. or 52 Spring Wings at a width of 100 cms
Upper Foam layer
Above the adjustable system are three layers of porous polyurethane cold foam.
. Top layer is ridged with projections facing downwards
. Middle layer is flat
. Third layer is ridged with projections facing upwards
The air cells and the porosity of the foam are designed to provide optimal ventilation to the skin.
The foam is enclosed in a cover.
Attachment
Fixation of the under frame onto the bed
With the 6 belts the under frame of Thevo-Adapt can be fixed safely onto the bed. The belts are laid around the tubular bed frame and pulled through the belt buckle. (NOTE: If it is a height adjustable bed, please fix the belts at the lifting system.) Pull the belts tight. In order to release the belt, open the belt buckle and pull off the belt.
Adjustments
Individual adjustments are based on the height and weight of the patient. The manual provides recommendations of adjustment configurations.
Adjust from the head to the foot
Cover
Standard Terry cotton cover or breathable incontinence cover. Both are zippered for removing and washing.
Factors To Consider
Philosophy of the design
The system is designed to enhance anatomically correct positioning. It aims to provide maximum conformity to the natural contours of the body.
For patient care it is important to support / maintain the perception of self movement. This therapeutic effect is reached by the close interaction between the system and the patient. The feedback effect is induced by the micro movements of the wing suspensions. These increase the perception of self movement. The wings adjust in accordance with the patient's bodily movements to provide pressure relief.
Thevo-Adapt can be used for various conditions and especially for the care of patients with pain and / or dementia or neurological clinical conditions.
Maintenance
Cleaning
