Caddy Three Wheel Scooter

A battery powered three wheeled scooter with finger operated controls. and the scooter is available with or without armrests. It comes standard with armrests, batteries, bright headlight and tail lights, can holder and rear wire basket. The scooter can be folded or dismantled into two parts plus batteries for transportation.

Frame: Sturdy aluminium alloy construction
Seat: The backrest and seat are padded vinyl
Armrests: lift up
Tiller: adjustable front steering column
Platform: The foot platform is flat and covered with slip resistant material.
Wheels: pneumatic tyres (solid tyres are optional)
Brakes: Automatic braking system - electromagnetic operation
Batteries: 2 x 12 Volt 12 Ah (or 2 x 12 Volt 17 Ah. optional). Two removable 12 v batteries are situated under the seat. Separate battery charger - plugs into standard domestic 10 amp outlet.
Controls: 2 forward speeds; 2 reverse speeds, battery LED indicator
Dismantling: Can be folded and stored vertically or dismantled for transportation. Unplug batteries, fold the seat down, lift off front wheel tiller section and if required, remove the rear wheels.
Rear wire basket: clips on behind seat and has 10kg capacity

This item should be trialled in the users home environment to ensure maximum safety / independence. Environmental considerations include kerbs, footpaths, road / railway crossings, etc

The space allowed on public transport for carrying mobility equipment is an area of 1300mm by 800mm.

State transit will only carry scooters with an unladen weight of less than 200 kg and which can be driven onto the bus, and manoeuvred to fit wholly within the designated wheelchair space under their own power. Any such scooters carried must also comply where relevant with the rules applying to wheelchairs.

Three wheeled mobility aids of any kind are unstable in normal bus operations and will not be carried because of the safety risk.

Accessible buses display a blue and white wheelchair sign on the front of the bus, and on the easy access door.
