Westhaven Industries is a supported employment service for people with special needs who require assistance in gaining and maintaining open employment. It is based in Dubbo and services the Central West, Orana and Far West Regions of NSW.

HOW TO BECOME A CONSUMER
Supported employees are officially known as "consumers".
A prospective consumer can contact Westhaven Industries themselves, or other people can contact Westhaven on their behalf such as:
- Centrelink
- Schools
- TAFE
- Families
- Advocates
Centrelink must authorise the entry of consumers into Westhaven Industries.
The consumer must:
- have an intellectual, physical, sensory or psychiatric disability
- want to get a job
- be able to work more than 8 hours per week
- need help to get and to keep a job
- be able to learn basic work skills and keep these with practice
- be aged between 15 and 65 years
- require long term supported employment.
Westhaven is unable to provide an immediate service to a prospective consumer who:
- has unstable living arrangements
- is not medically fit for work
- has a drug or alcohol problem
- has behavioural problems that present a risk to the well being of other consumers and staff and the prospective employee.

Wood Product Manufacturing

Cardboard Disposal
