More Details
 VARIO SYSTEM
This is a dynamic pressure control system which constantly senses any change in patient position or movement and automatically adjusts the cushion pressure to ensure the lowest optimum pressure is provided at all times regardless of the patients size, shape, weight or position.
MATERIALS
. The bed consists of a foam base that contains the Vario pressure system.
. On top of the base is a one piece air filled mattress comprising 15 cushion cells and made of high stretch, soft, conformable polyurethane material. These cells will expand to three times their size and have high memory.
COVER
The "Protex" cover is conformable, easy to clean and waterproof, breathable and bacteria resistant.
CONTROL UNIT / PUMP
The compact and lightweight air supply unit is quiet, vibration free and user friendly. It features a built in quick reference guide to set up and deflation.
Automatic Pressure adjustment : The "Vario" pressure sensor detects the force applied by the user under the sacrum, which will be different depending on the weight and position of the user. It adjust individual cell pressures automatically, by equalising the pressures between the sensor and the mattress cushions offering a dynamic and continuous control of low pressures for the user.
SAFETY
Rapid deflation of the air mattress is possible to provide a firm surface for CPR, by turning the CPR Rapid Deflation Valve clockwise one quarter turn.
CLEANING
The Protex cover may be wiped down by hand with soapy water. It is treated with Activfresh which gives an anti bacterial effect.
MATTRESS AND SEATING SYSTEM delivering 24 hour care
The Primo system incorporates a seat cushion design that adjusts to each individual patient to ensure low interface pressures, whilst maintaining tissue viability. The cushion connects to the same air supply unit, and yet is self-sealing so that it can be disconnected to allow greater patient independence. A cost effective alternative to having two separate systems for bed and chair.

Factors To Consider
All pressure reduction products must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion or mattress. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct inflation levels), a different product may need to be considered.
