Short Description

The Contessa 2000 lift is an electrically operated fully automatic lift with its own space saving aluminium shaft. Holds approximately one wheelchair user and four standing people. The lift can travel up to seven metres with up to five stops. Suitable for indoor use. Can be retrofitted or installed in new buildings.

CAR ENTRANCES
. Each car entrance is protected with a concertina type folding door. This car door opens and closes automatically.

. Each landing has an electro mechanical interlocking device that prevents the door from being opened when the lift is not at that landing
. Concealed hydraulic door closers

SAFETY
. The lift can only descend when driven down. Cannot accidentally fall.
. Emergency battery (UPS) lowering of the car in the event of household power failure

Installation

Requires professional installation. A pit is not essential. Can be craned in or disassembled for retrofitting. Having its own shaft allows for easy installation into a building.

In NSW the owner or controller of the lift (if not the owner) is required to register their lift with WorkCover. They need to complete Form PL2 Application For Item Registration of Lift / Escalator and Moving Walkway. A fee of $65 is charged for a lift installed in a public place. The applicant must state that the plant has been inspected by a competent person and is safe to operate (use).

It is compulsory that the lift be inspected annually by a competant person. WorkCover requires payment for registration as well as an annual fee.
