Short Description
This alarm system consists of an alarm unit and a sensor. It provides an alert via a wireless pager or nurse call system, that a person has risen from their bed or chair and / or is in an area that requires monitoring. The Proxi-Mate range of sensors include bed and chair sensors and an infra red sensor. It is suitable for aged care, home care and hospitals.

System Components
The Proxi-Mate system consists of a Proxi-Mate alarm unit and one of a range of Proxi-Mate sensors for different applications.
* The Proxi-Mate Bed Sensor is placed on top of the mattress and notifies the carer as soon as an attempt is being made to leave the bed.
* The Proxi-Mate Chair Sensor uses the same technology as the bed sensor and is specifically designed for use with a seat.
* The Proxi-Mate Infra-Red Sensor is a small, robust motion detector which can be used to monitor motion in a specific area such as a bed, walkway or bathroom. It responds quickly to any movement. Range is approx 5m
Applications
* For the nursing home environment, Proxi-Mate notifies staff through the existing nurse call system or a Proxi-Mate pager, known as Proxi-Mate Wireless
* For home use, Proxi-Mate notifies the carer through the pager
All Proxi-Mate alarm systems come ready to go "out of the box". If it is to be used with a nurse-call system, the Proxi-Mate system is supplied with the appropriate plug installed (Please contact the supplier for more details).
