The Dynavox EyeMax is the eye gaze accessory that can be purchased to enable eye gaze access to the Dynavox V Max communication device.
Suitability
The EyeMax System can be used by people of all ages and cognitive abilities with direct vision in one or both eyes.
The EyeMax System can be used by individuals with Cerebral Palsy, Motor Neurone Disease (ALS), spinal cord injuries and many other genetic and degenerative conditions.
It can still be used
* with both eyes or a single eye
* where the client is wearing contact lenses or glasses
* where the client has a degree of controlled head movement
Access
Direct access to the DynaVox Vmax series device using eyegaze.
Selection can be made using a blink or by dwelling on the desired area of the screen.

Access
* AAC user's eyegaze needs to be calibrated with the device
* Accuracy of eyemovements may vary from day to day, making recalibration necessary
Prescription
* Assessment and trial to determine if this suits an individual is required
* This device, in conjunction with DynaVox Max or DynaVox Max+, would be considered a Group 3 device within EnableNSW Prescription Guidelines, requiring prescription by an experienced assistive technology team with a speech pathologist and occupational therapist
