Short Description
Callers can be connected to a local or STD number by an operator by dialling 12456. This will cost $1.10 in addition to the normal call charge. There is a fee exemption for eligible customers with severe physical disabilities (including people with quadriplegia, severe motor neurone disease) who are unable to use a standard telephone or find dialling extremely difficult.

More Details
* The caller will speak with an operator who can connect them to any White Pages or Yellow Pages directory listing
* If the name of the person or business is known, the caller will be connected to their number.
* If a caller is looking for a certain type of business but doesn't know their name, the operator can provide up to three business listings and then connect them to the one chosen
* When a call is made from a mobile phone and is connected to the person or business, an automatic SMS will be sent to the caller's mobile phone with their contact details for storage into the phone for the future
* Send an SMS to 12456 to request the phone number of a person or business. A Call Connect operator will search for the details and respond via SMS
Call Connect Exemption
* Telstra customers who can't dial numbers on a normal phone, or find it difficult to do so, may be eligible for a disability exemption on the Call Connect service fee
* Applicants for a fee exemption will need to get certification (Telstra has form) signed by an OT, Rehabilitation Engineer or Rehabilitation Physician.
