Short Description

An inflatable cushion of neoprene rubber (no latex) air filled cells. The cushion is light and conforms to the shape of the user. Air pressure is adjusted for each user so that the user is suspended approximately 15mm above the cushion base. Available in single and dual valve cushions in several standard sizes. Can also be custom made. Suitable for people at high risk of developing pressure sores.

High Profile Dual Compartment cushion: Has two valves. The dual compartments can be adjusted independently to increase positioning and stability for either side to side or front to back control.

STRUCTURE
. ROHO invented DRY FLOATATION? technology, which uses air to support the person uniformly and in this system eliminates excessive pressure differences (a cause of bed sores).
. Reduces friction and shear
. The user sits in, rather than on the cushion. . The rolling or sliding sensation associated with fluid or gel cushions, is eliminated.
. Air is allowed to circulate under and around the user sitting on the cushion.
. This cushion is available with a single valve (for people who can sit
symmetrically) and a dual valve (to enable the two halves of the cushion to be inflated separately at different pressures) to increase stability and postural control

COVER
. Universal Cushion Cover meets global flame retardancy standards
. Optional high stretch Lycra custom cover (item code SC) - supply the cushion model and size at the time of ordering. This cover does not meet the same level of flammability protection as the standard Universal Cover

Factors To Consider

All cushions must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct choice and depth of foam, correct inflation level) , a different product may need to be considered.
Ensure that the item is not accidentally placed upside down or back to front
