Short Description
The Enhancer is a dual valve inflatable cushion that is shaped by the use of three different height ROHO air cells. Dual valves to allow adjustment of the lower inner bucket cells and high perimeter cells independently for positioning, stability and posture. Can be used to suspend the Ischial Tuberosities by over inflating outside cells. Suitable for people at medium to high risk of developing pressure sores.
More Details
Designed to encourage proper positioning and posture, with even pressure distribution.
. The cushion consists of interconnected freestanding air cells that
redistribute the users weight. The Enhancer has a dual manifold with a dual valve system, that allows the inner bucket seat manifold of 50 mm and 75 mm and outer 100mm cells to be adjusted for stability and positioning by providing channeling of the legs and enhanced lateral stability. The cell configuration makes up what is commonly called an ischial dish (that is, a shape that follows the contour of the buttocks to provide support for the thighs and protection to the Ischial Tuberosities
. The higher cells along each side and across the front are graded to lower cells in the rear central position, with 4 central 100mm cells at the front acting as a pommel.
. In addition, the special design of the Enhancer cushion inhibits sacral sitting while enhancing tissue viability. The shape of the cushion gives it ANTI THRUST properties
. The cushion shapes to the user's body providing superior pressure distribution and minimal shear forces while offering the added benefit of progressive positioning.
. No weight limit - suitable for bariatric use
. The Enhancer works best for those who are at moderate to high risk for skin breakdown, need some degree of leg channeling, either abduction / adduction, have poor sitting balance or/and who sacral sit.
COVER
. Universal Cushion Cover meets global flame retardancy standards
. Optional high stretch Lycra custom cover (item code SC) - supply the cushion model and size at the time of ordering. This cover does not meet the same level of flammability protection as the standard Universal Cover
Factors To Consider
All cushions must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct choice and depth of foam, correct inflation level) , a different product may need to be considered.
Ensure that the item is not accidentally placed upside down or back to front.
