I.D. mate OMNI can be used to quickly identify any product or item that is not easily recognized. For example, cans, jars, boxes, bottles, clothing, playing cards, prescription drugs, compact disks, albums, cassette tapes, computer disks, books, important documents, file folders.
Bar codes are already placed on most products sold in stores today. I.D. mate OMNI contains a database of items including: grocery, spirits, movies, music and more. Many items in the database have extended package details, such as: nutritional information, ingredients, warnings, instructions, package size, song titles, movie ratings, and miscellaneous package details. UPC database updates are available every six months.
With I.D. mate OMNI the user can add additional voice recorded information to existing products or to items not found in the database.
Additional bar code labels are available to label any product that does not already have a bar code. Adhesive, tag and iron-on bar code labels can be placed on items such as clothing, file folders, appliances, keys, hobby supplies, and leftover food. You scan the bar code and add a voice recording.
Although the Omni integrates fully with a computer, you don't have to have a computer or be computer literate to use
ID Mate OMNI can be used in the home or in the workplace to identify cans, jars, boxes, bottles, clothing, playing cards, prescription drugs, CDs and DVDs, albums, cassette tapes, gardening products, pictures, important documents, files, clothing, etc.
The ID Mate OMNI package includes: I.D. mate OMNI with Adjustable Lanyard, carrying case with strap, 4 high capacity NiMH Batteries, AC/DC power adapter, 100 pre-printed bar code labels, 512 megabyte compact flash memory card, user's guide printed and on CD.
Omni directional scanner
The exact location of the bar code or UPC does not need to be known. To scan an item, rotate the scanner around the product. OMNI will read the bar code in any direction up to 10 inches away.
Lightweight and portable
OMNI weighs 70g (1.5 pounds). It has a rubberized case to assist grip and protection. An adjustable lanyard makes the device easily accessible for scanning.
CompactFlash memory card
OMNI comes with a standard 256 MB CompactFlash memory card (upgradeable up to 1 GB). This card allows for many hours of recording.
Memo Feature
In addition to the identification of products, i.d. mate OMNI can be used as a digital memo recorder. The user can record, play, erase and organise any number of voice memos. You can also choose where you want new memos inserted: after the last played memo, or at the end of the list.
You are also able to create additional memo modes. You can create 'file folders' for easy organisation. You can create a mode for shopping lists, recipes, one for important dates, and one for contact information.
Rechargeable battery
OMNI features a high-capacity rechargeable battery pack that lasts all day before needing to be recharged. OMNI is fully functional when plugged into a standard AC outlet.
On-board help
OMNI features a help mode that offers quick answers for frequently asked questions.
Adjustable volume and Earphone Plug Jack
The unit has volume control and an ear plug jack for privacy. You can also adjust the pitch and speed of the voice
Additional Labels
Additional bar code labels are available as tags, stickers or iron-on. Use these to label items that do not already have a bar code on it: eg. clothing, keys, files, computer disks, pictures, appliances, etc.
