Short Description
A range of portable, plastic grab rails which have a rubber vacuum grip at each end to enable them to be secured to a smooth, air tight, non-porous surface. They can be used as a temporary grab rail and are not designed to support the user's total body weight. They are available in three models and a range of different sizes.
Models
BC201 - Single Grip
BC500M - Medium Telescopic Grip
BC500L - Large Telescopic Grip
BC400M - Medium Telescopic Pivot Grip
BC400L - Large Telescopic Pivot Grip
More Details
. The rails are made of a white plastic with no sharp edges.
. The rubber suction discs are located on each end of the rail. The suction disc diameter is 120mm on all models.
. The rails may be positioned on tiles and smooth walls. The tiles must be at least 130mm by 130mm in size.
. When the rail is in the desired position a vacuum seal is created under each disc by pushing down a plastic lever on each disc.
. Horizontal, vertical or various oblique positions are possible with the telescopic rail extended to whole tiles.
. A pivoting telescopic rail is available to allow rails to be mounted in difficult corners or within a bath.
Factors To Consider
Caution
* These rails use suction to maintain their position to the wall
* They are not designed to support full body weight and should be used as a temporary measure
* Check the condition of the wall or tub surface before positioning the rail
* High climatic temperature (above 30 degrees) will reduce the tensile force
* Keep the suction cups clean, dry and free of oils or grease
* Use underwater reduces adhesive power
Important Considerations
Do not:
* use on wall board, wood, painted or papered surfaces
* place over grout lines
* place in a position of direct sunlight
* use sharp instruments that may damage the suction discs
Standards
For some types of equipment, specific Australian and other standards are applicable to the materials used in, the manufacturing processes applied to and the installation of products. Compliance with relevant Standards is indicated by written certification that a product has been tested and assessed as compliant with specific Standards. Purchasers are advised to check with the supplier or manufacturer of this item as to its compliance with relevant Standard(s).
For grab rails to safety comply with Australian Standards, they must be able to safely withstand a force of 1100 newtons. These rails do not comply with Australian Standards. The maximum suction power of holding grips without a joint adapter is 600 newtons. The maximum suction power of holding grips with a joint adapter is 400 newtons.
