Short Description

A mobile stand up hoist that brings a person from sitting to a supported standing position. The hoist is battery operated and its compact size makes it suitable for domestic use. It has an adjustable knee pad and removable foot platform. May be used for rehabilitation and gait retraining.

Method Of Use

This stand up hoist is designed to assist with the standing transfer of a person from one seated position to another seated position. The person needs to have the ability to weight bear, except where U shape sling that has a four point attachment is to be used.

The use of the deluxe standing sling that fits under the arm pits and behind the back, weight bearing foot platform and a cushioned, contoured knee pad provide the three points of support. It is preferable if the person can hold onto the hand grips to assist the standing process. The person needs to be able to lean back into the sling for it to be effective.

This style of hoist is useful for toileting and dressing tasks as it provides full access for attending to lower garments.

If gait retraining is required the single footplate can be removed, the knee pad remains in place but is not used. The deluxe standing sling is still used.
