Starting off with a simple keyword, faceted search allows you to progressively refine your search results in real-time. Multiple filters can be applied to the search results in any order to narrow down the results until the desired items are found. The @magic faceted search has been designed to aid the clinical reasoning process - providing useful next steps to help you decide what aspects or 'facets' are important to your clients needs, and refine your search results accordingly. Example 'facets' you can filter by are: AT category/type, client, features, specifications and supplier distance.
A clipboard is a place where you can shortlist products that interest you. It doesn't matter whether you're searching or browsing for a product, if there is a product that you think would be suitable for your client, you can 'Clipboard' it. Clipboards are automatically saved, meaning you can create them and come back to them at a later time. You can create and reuse clipboards for each of your clients. This allows you to easily track your clients AT history.
Side-by-side compare allows you to select different pieces of AT, and compare their product details side-by-side. This assists you in weighing the pros and cons of different pieces of equipment to help choose the most suitable AT solutions for your clients. Examples of details that can be compared are product dimensions and specifications, product features, pricing, and suppliers.
An AT recommendation is a customisable, print-friendly version of your clipboard. You can create AT recommendations to give to your clients, keep for your own records, or attach with equipment request funding forms e.g PADP. When you create an AT recommendation, you are given the option of including relevant product supplier details, adding your own comments and recommending suitable models and options.
A Supplier Demonstration is an opportunity for users to view a piece of AT seen through the eyes of the ILC staff when demonstrated by a Supplier. The suppliers bring their AT into the ILC and the demonstration is filmed and available for viewing online as a streaming video. ILC Therapists look at the product demonstrated and ask questions that health professionals would be interested in.
Educational modules are online streaming videos that can be used as an educational reference by students, new graduates and experienced health professionals. Educational modules cover different aspects of AT, and range from introductions to differnent types of AT and their features, to a more in-depth look at specific features, factors to consider and clinical reasoning for a piece of AT. Educational modules combine slides, audio commentary and video demonstrations.
A Therapeutic Discussion is an informal discussion between therapists based around a case study. It gives the listener a chance to follow clinical reasoning around the selection of Assistive Technology. Designed to facilitate discussion and the development of ideas, it is not intended to provide specific solutions for any client. Therapeutic discussions are presented as a podcast (audio) enhanced with photographs.
