The Special Needs Officer of the Playgroup Association provides information and referral to families and their children 0-5 years, with mild to moderate physical and intellectual disabilities, ensures that joining a playgroup is enjoyable and stress free, provides opportunity for integration and interaction with other children and their families. Officer will visit family for individual interview, and approach playgroup on their behalf, if required.

Renwick Centre is a centre for research and professional studies in the education of children with sensory disabilities. The Centre is administered by the Royal NSW Institute for Deaf and Blind children and is affiliated with the University of Newcastle.

Siblings Australia aims to develop and coordinate services for families, and in particular, brothers and sisters of children with special needs (disability or chronic illness). Currently they conduct workshops for parents and professionals in different states and have a web site discussion group for siblings.

Sylvanvale is a charity and not for profit organisation that offers support, education, training, and employment to children and adults with disabilities who live in the Sutherland Shire.

This organisation aims to promote learning in children by encouraging the completion of early childhood developmental stages, in an endeavour to prevent under achievement at school. There are several Gymbaroo Centres throughout Australia, operated by professionally qualified personnel.
