DTAC Stair Tread

DTAC Stair And Tread Edging

A range of slip resistant stair nosings which can provide a colour contrast to a step edge. They are made from hard anodised aluminium and comply with the National Construction Code (NCC). Available in various colours, designs and angles.

* DTAC's stair treads and edging designs can be retro-fitted to existing stairs.
* Suitable for stairs and various floor and joinery edging applications
* DTAC edging can be adapted for all architectural and joinery situations including carpet and stable finished surfaces.
* DTAC's stair treads and edging products are designed to comply with relevant legislation, standards and codes and also tested for compliance with slip resistance requirements.

Considerations

National Construction Code (NCC) compliant products are designed to comply with the NCC (effective from 01.05.11). This was previously referred to as the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and Disability (Access to Premises - Buildings) Standards to meet the deemed to-satisfy- provisions

The most important factors are
1. A solid band of colour is required 50-75mm in depth across the tread with a 30% contrast required.
2. The contrasting strip shall be no more than 15mm back from the tread.
3. The turn down at the front face is to be no longer than 10mm

* The nosing needs to be installed by certified product installers in accordance with the relevant standards and codes.

Follow the manufacturer's recommended cleaning procedures.

Standards
Some assistive technology needs to meet Australian or other standards. Standards may relate to materials, manufacturing and installation. TGA
Many of the items on the Assistive Technology Australia website are categorised as a Medical Device. Medical devices that are approved for use in Australia have been entered into a national database called the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG), which is maintained by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). You can ask the supplier for the ARTG number for the device you wish to purchase and search the ARTG for the entry. To access information on the ARTG visit www.tga.gov.au

When buying a medical device it is advisable to only choose a medical device that is recommended by a healthcare professional and has been included on the ARTG.
