Structure
Air Filled Cells
* The cushion contains hundreds of air-filled Cells with low surface friction, which allows them to move easily against each other and to conform precisely to the body's contours. The individual deformation of the Cells further enhances this process. This is designed to provide is a stable and comfortable body support, combined with good pressure distribution.

Compartments
The cushion is divided into several compartments, each filled to its own cell density to create an optimal environment to deal with pressure and shear forces.
* middle rear providing immersion
* elevated lateral thigh support
* medial thigh support or pommel
* upper leg support providing immersion
The two lateral compartments and the front middle compartment are 3cm higher compared to the middle rear section. This is to provide extra lateral stability and a balance of pressure distribution and stable positioning.

Adjustability
* The Vector is adjustable in cell density, enabling individual solutions to different situations, such as in cases of severe body asymmetry. This is done by adding/removing a small number of Smart Cells to/from a compartment.

Cover
* Comfair: This cover has a breathable top fabric for comfort and moisture dispersion and stretches in two directions.
* Incontinence: This cover is fluid proof and also stretches in two directions.

Considerations

* All cushions must be monitored to prevent 'bottoming out'. This occurs when the user's weight bears down so hard on the product material that it is flattened and the bony parts are pressed against the surface below the cushion. Where bottoming out occurs even with correct use (eg correct choice and depth of foam, correct inflation level) , a different product may need to be considered.
* Ensure that the item is not accidentally placed upside down or back to front.
* It is advisable that a health professional be consulted when considering a suitable pressure care product.

Maintenance

* The Academy inner cover is protected against accidental urine contamination and can be cleaned with a standard disinfectant or detergent.
* The Incontinence cover is waterproof and easy to clean
* Both the Comfair and Incontinence covers can be machine washed at 60C, preferably inside out.
