Northcott Vocational Skills Training and Employment

Northcott School Leaver Employment Support (SLES) and vocational skills service is a practical, hands on service, with focus and commitment to helping their customers become work ready, find a real job, work experience or volunteer opportunities.
This service is available in locations across Sydney and regional New South Wales.

More Details

The Service assist and support people with various forms of medical condications including neurological, congenital and genetic conditions. This includes cerebral palsy (CP), Duchenne muscular dystrophy, spina bifida and Rett syndrome. We also support people with intellectual disability such as Down Syndrome, Global Developmental Delay, Fine Motor Delay, Developmental Coordination Disorder and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

They support their customers to:
- learn at a pace that suits them
- build their confidence and achieve their career goals
- work with them every step of the way
- focus on strengths

Their trained and supportive staff support the customers in a number of ways:
- Communicating with others
- Making decisions
- Everyday safety
- Community engagement and socialisation
- Planning and preparation
- Handling money
- Tailored work experience
- Time management
- Domestic and household tasks
- Learning how to use public transport
- Personal care and hygiene
- Practical skill development
