This app can be downloaded to Android products via Google Play App Store.
Some Android devices already have this software, which can be accessed from the accessibility menu.

Transcription:
* Transcribes in real time. Text appears on your phone as words are spoken
* Captures the nuances of how words are used in context
* Choose from over 80 languages and dialects, and quickly switch between two languages
* Add custom words that you use frequently, like names or household items
* Set your phone to vibrate when someone says your name
* Type responses in your conversation. Bring up your phone's keyboard and type your words for a continuous dialogue. Transcriptions still appear while you type. Your will need to show your typed response to your communication partner
* See the volume of the speaker's voice compared to the loudness in your environment. You can use this sound indicator to adjust your volume when you speak
* Use external microphones found in wired headsets, Bluetooth headsets and USB mics for better audio reception
* You can choose to save transcriptions for three days. Saved transcriptions will stay locally on your device for three days, so that you can copy and paste them elsewhere. By default, transcriptions are not saved
* Search within saved transcriptions
* Touch and hold text in transcription to copy and paste

Sound Notifications:
* Provides notification of potential risky situations and personal situations based on sounds (for example, smoke alarm, siren or baby sounds)
* Notifies you using using a flashing light or vibration to your mobile device or wearable
* Timeline view lets you go back in up to 12 hours to see what was happening around you

It is possible to use only the transcription feature or only the sound notifications feature, as they are activated separately.

Considerations

Please be aware that software can fail, and it is not recommended to rely on an app as your only means of detecting emergency alerting such as smoke detectors.

Permissions notice:
Microphone:
Live Transcribe needs microphone access to transcribe the speech around you. The app developer state that audio is not stored after the transcription is processed.
Sound Notifications need microphone access to listen for sounds happening around you. The audio is also not stored once processing has finished.

Medical devices that are approved for use in Australia have been entered into a national database called the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG), which is maintained by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). You can ask the supplier for the ARTG number for the device you wish to purchase and search the ARTG for the entry. To access information on the ARTG visit www.tga.gov.au

When buying a medical device it is advisable to only choose a medical device that is recommended by a healthcare professional and has been included on the ARTG.
