Method Of Use

Calls/Mobile Phone:
* The Rova will answer to calls automatically. Programmes can be set to allow only the emergency contacts to call and speak to the user. It will block unwanted scam callers.
* The volume can be controlled by positioning the Rova closer to or further from the users? ear.

SOS Button:
* When help is needed, user can press and hold the SOS button for 2 seconds until it vibrates. The Rova will sequentially call user?s contact.
* If the first contact does not answer the call within 10 seconds, it will call the next contact.
* If an emergency contact?s phone is off or goes straight to voicemail this will prevent the Rova from calling the next emergency contact because it assumes the voicemail answering the call is a successful connection with a person.

Fall Detection:
* When the Fall Detection is triggered, the Cell Signal LED on the Rova will flash rapidly.
* The Rova will beep loudly to confirm the activation. A call will be made to the emergency contact and a text with GPS location will be sent to all emergency contacts.

Considerations

Beware when using GPS tracking devices of the following:

* People with dementia should have the opportunity to move about as freely and independently as possible. The balance between independence and safety is delicate. In itself, wandering is not harmful and when done in a safe environment, can be a healthy outlet for a person with dementia. By determining what may be contributing to wandering, you may be able to identify the triggers and find ways to make it safer.

* GPS tracking devices follow a person's movements and identify his location. No device or system can guarantee that a person with dementia or intellectual disability will not get lost or that he will be found. However you may decide to use one to keep him safer.

* Please note: the field of locating devices is highly technical and detailed. Also, the equipment used to support some of these devices (e.g., a computer, smart phone) may not be practical or readily available for some people.
