Frame
The alloy frame is heat treated and tempered following welding to increase strength of materials and ultimately decrease weight of chair
* Optional titanium frame
* Backrest, axle position and height, rake, castors and castor angle plus footrest hangers are all adjustable
* Available in a range of epoxy coated colours.
* Front wheel drive is optional
Upholstery
* Standard is a water resistant synthetic Dacron upholstery and seat with adjustable sling tension of the seat
* Backrest is padded and is tension adjustable
* Optional back upholstery can include carbon fibre backs
Seat back
Fold down sling back with an extended flap that connects to the seat with hook and loop fastening
Backrest
Standard is a folding back with a spread bar at chosen height. Optional backrests can include fix, lift-out, reclining and height adjustable.
Armrests
(Optional Extras) Swing away, height adjustable, removable, double anchored or fixed with a full length or desk length pad.
Wheels
* Standard is 610mm (24") in diameter with quick release axles
* Comes with alloy rims and push rims
* An extensive range of rear wheels, sizes (20" - 27") and push rims are available
* Tyre options include Spinergy, Glance & Carbon fibre rear wheels, high pressure and BMX all terrain tyres, solid tyres and puncture proofing tyres
Camber
* Standard is 3 degrees on the rear wheels
* Can be adjustable at any angle from 0 - 20 degrees
Castors
125 mm polyurethane front castors with castor angle adjustment; high tensile castor forks
Footplate
* Standard is a single piece adjustable alloy plate
* Optional extras are available with swing away, 2 piece lift up and lift out detachable footplates
Legrests/ Front hangers
* Standard is fixed tapered and bends at 80 degrees
* Optional front hangers include multiple degree bends at 60 to 90 degrees or swing away hangers at 60, 70 or 90 degrees and a lift out front is available
Brakes
(Optional Extras) A range of styles are available with high and low push on or pull on brakes, lever spring loaded scissor style brakes and drum hub brakes available
Dismantling or Folding
* Quick release wheels with optional quad axle buttons
* Backrest can fold down or lifts out
* Main frame is a rigid unit that does not fold
* Quick release castors are available
Factors To Consider
Wheelchair Restraints
When transporting a person in a wheelchair in a car or van, both the occupant and the wheelchair require an RTA approved restraint system. The wheelchair and the occupant need to be separately secured to the vehicle itself.
RTA approval is not required for a postural support, such as a harness, that supports the user in the wheelchair but is not part of the vehicle restraint system.
The use of a headrest is not legally required but strongly recommended. Easily detachable, folding headrests which fit a wheelchair with standard push handles are available. Refer to section Wheelchair, Scooter, Cushions, ramps / Postural Supports - Seating System: Restraint+ Head+Back+Seats
