Short Description

A battery powered wheelchair with a solid seat and back and a Cantilever Transverse Arm System which allows independent 4 wheeled suspension so uneven terrain can be negotiated without loss of traction. Seat width, depth and angle and backrest angle are adjustable and the armrests lift up and adjust in height and angle. Available with 45 degrees tilt in space. Other seating systems can be fitted to the base if required. A Series 6 Vertical Lift model is also available.

Frame
Tie down points for transporting in motor vehicles.

Tilt in Space
* Fittings accommodate powered tilt in space (28 degrees with an adjustable strut) and powered or manual reclining backrest (90-135 degrees).
*A fixed tilt in space angle can be set by adjusting a bolt under the seat. This is normally set by the supplier on purchasing the chair.

Upholstery
Vinyl covered padded seat, back and armrests.

Seat
* Adjustable angle (bolt locks into position). Adjustable width (370 - 550mm) and depth (370 - 550mm) by means of bolt adjustment.
* Centre of gravity compensation allows the seat to slide forward when using the tilt seat option.

Backrest
Adjustable angle (bolt locks into position). Folds down.

Armrests
Adjustable height. Drop down flush with seat. Armrests are mounted on a slide to allow adjustment backwards and forwards.

Legrests
Swing away. Removable plastic footplates.

Dismantling
* Remove legrests, lift top section off base, remove batteries.
* Pull out and twist round knobs at base of backrest. This enables the backrest to be lifted then folded forward to a flatter position.

Customisation
*Backrest height and seat height can be customised to suit individual needs.

Licence & Insurance Requirements

Registration requirements
In NSW, motorised wheelchairs that weigh less than 110 kg and cannot travel at more than 10 km/h do not have to be registered, provided they are being used by a person with mobility problems. A person driving a motorised wheelchair under these circumstances is defined as a pedestrian under the Australian Road Rules and is permitted to travel on a footpath or nature strip adjacent to the road.

Vehicles exempt from registration are covered by the nominal defendant scheme (administered by the Motor Accidents Authority) if they are at fault in an accident in NSW on a road or road-related area and cause injury to another person. However, this cover is only valid in NSW.
