Short Description
A scissor type platform lift specially designed to transport a wheelchair user vertically up to a maximum landing level of 1000 mm. The lift occupies less space than a ramp and can be easily installed or removed. Installation by means of fixing bolt at each corner. Designed for use outdoors or indoors. If this lift is to be used in a public building it must comply with the relevant Australian Standard. Contact the supplier for details.

OPERATION:
- By a low pressure air pump which operates off 240 volt power, and inflates a large volume air-bag under the platform to provide the lift.
- Control of the unit is by pneumatic push switches at upper and lower stations.
- The pump unit (motor) may be situated remote from the platform if necessary.
- The height of the lift is infinitely adjustable up to the maximum - 760 mm.
- Closed height of the unit is approximately 50 mm and access is
provided by a ramp which doubles as a safety rail.
Installation
In NSW the owner or controller of the lift (if not the owner) is required to register their lift with WorkCover. They need to complete Form PL2 Application For Item Registration of Lift / Escalator and Moving Walkway. A fee of $65 is charged for a lift installed in a public place. The applicant must state that the plant has been inspected by a competent person and is safe to operate (use).
It is compulsory that the lift be inspected annually by a competent person. WorkCover requires payment for registration as well as an annual fee.

It is an offence to operate plant that is not correctly registered under the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001.
