Short Description

A range of 'Do it yourself' home security devices designed for use as anti intruder alarms. These devices are all stand alone units which emit an alarm sound when activated.

Models

TANDY PRODUCTS
Mini Alarm (49-7048) - a small, battery powered, infra-red detector which can be wall mounted in a hallway or other room. This device detects movement within a 120 degree range and sounds either an alarm chime if someone comes within range. It can be switched off when not required. Approximate size: 140 mm x 80 mm x 50 mm. The alarm will continue to ring until it is switched to the off position, which may be disturbing to both the wanderer or others within the house.
Photorelay Alarm (49-310) - a mains powered, wall mounted, infra-red motion detector which creates an invisible beam across a hallway or room. The beam is directed from the camera style unit to a sensitive plate up to 15 metres away. The benefit of this alarm over the previous one is the alarm only sounds whilst the person breaks the beam. This unit may be less stressful to use in a wandering' situation. The alarm strength can be set at either loud or soft.

DICK SMITH PRODUCTS
Intruder PIR Alarm with Keypad Cat L-5061
Movement automatically triggers this alarm, sounding an ultra loud 130dB siren. Monitors a 7m range in a 60 degree arc. Features easy to program
4 digit personal code, automatic reset, 30 second exit delay, 10 second entry delay and a battery low indicator.

More Details

*All of the following stand alone devices consist of a sensor which detects movement or when a door or window is opened
*If activated, an audible alarm will sound
*These systems are not selective and the sensors will be activated by
anyone who passes within range or who opens a door with a sensor attached.
*Careful consideration should be given to where the unit is positioned so that accidental activation is minimised.
*Most can be switched on and off so that they can be primed to operate only at night, but they are not timer programmable so cannot be set to go off at. eg. 11.00 pm each night.

*The amplifier comes complete with transformer, microphone (to pick up sound from TV or a person speaking) and chair loop.
*A 35m loop cable and cords for jackplug connection to TV and radio are sold separately.
*12 months warranty.
*Can be connected to the Multicall so that a person watching TV using a
hearing aid on the T-switch can be alerted to the phone or doorbell ringing by the sound alarm signal.

These detectors may also be used to alert carers of people who are inclined to wander because of dementia or other conditions.
