Short Description
An alarm system which monitors when a person leaves their bed or chair. This is useful for a person who may wander or is at risk of falling. The monitoring is achieved through use of a pressure mat.
More Details
The monitoring is achieved through the use of 2 alarm components:
* The use of a pressure mat located in the bed where the person normally sits or lays. This mat is cabled to a relay interface which is connected to the alarm box with the alarm output connected as required to:
* Nurse call alarm
* Audible pager
* Mobile pager alarm
* Semi fixed pager
* While the person lies or sits in bed the relay contact connecting the
alarm system is open. Immediately the person leaves the bed, the relay contact closes causing the alarm system to be activated.
* The alarm panel can incorporate a time delay function that provides an adjustable time delay to prevent false alarms from occurring.
