Short Description
A directional radio transmitter and receiver system to help locate people who wander. The radio transmitter can be supplied as a pendant worn around the neck, or as a belt, with a zippered back. Several colours are available. Check with the supplier regarding the possibility of accessing a receiver unit which is already in operation in your area. NOTE: May not be suitable for all areas.
More Details
The system consists of a radio transmitter installed in a pendant worn around the neck of a wanderer. The necklet is short and contains the aerial.
The transmitter is sealed and fully waterproof. It has a battery life of approximately 4 months, after which it should be returned for replacement battery, testing and service.
The receiver pinpoints the direction from which the signal is coming, its
feedback tone increasing as the pendant (worn by the wanderer) is located.
The receiver is carried in a leather case with shoulder strap.
The handheld antenna connects to the receiver and is used to ascertain the direction of the signal from the pendant transmitter.
Range: 1 km in built-up area.
4 - 5 km over open ground.
Up to 35 km from air.
Note: This is only sold to people who live in areas where the police and State Emergency Services can actively look for people who are missing as some of the police stations do not have the resources to respond promptly.
