Short Description
The resident monitoring system monitors residents activities according to pre-set parameters (or personalities) for each individual. The system includes sensors for day and night operation connected to a computer which sends messages to staff via vibrating pocket paging receivers.

*Sensors include switches on doors, beam sensors and bed sensors.
Presently used in residential dementia units, where all doors are
locked.
*The computer is a PC, from which the parameters are set for each
individual. No attention is usually required by staff as operations are
automatic.
*The paging system uses a vibrating pocket paging receiver, which gives members of staff a coded message indicating the door or room calling.
The system was developed by Questek Australia in association with Alzheimer Education and Anglican Retirement Villages.
