Four layer construction
Top Layer - Manufactured from a specially knitted 100% polyester fabric. This permits rapid penetration of fluid into second layer and reduces fluid return to surface when under pressure (wick back).
Second Layer - a unique blend of fibres which disseminates fluid from the upper layer evenly across the pad. Fibres also function to reduce wick back.
Third Layer - The "holding tank" of the pad where fluid is trapped and stored. Even distribution of fluid throughout the pad enables the user to remain dry and comfortable.
Base Layer - A 100% polyester fabric quilted to the underside of the felt to reduce fibre loss during wash cycles and to enhance the life of the pad.
Rapid fluid penetration - 5 seconds
Prevents prolonged exposure to urine, reducing risk of skin complications and enhances end user comfort.
2.5 litre absorption capacity
Even under pressure the top layer feels fresh and dry against the end users skin.
Tyco Healthcare tests all of their products against the Australian Wool Testing Authority (AWTA) Standard for absorbent bed pads.
Use:
- The polyester surface is placed against the user's skin.
- There should be no clothing between the user and the pad.
The Supreme bed pads without the water resistant backing require a waterproof sheet to be placed underneath to protect the bed.
