Essential Personnel provides a professional employment and training service to enable people with disabilities to obtain and retain valued employment. It is a not for profit organisation, funded by the Department of Family and Community Services. It has branches throughout NSW.

More Details

Essential Personnel is a not for profit organisation with four core areas of operation. Their purpose is to lead the way in the development of employment, training and support services for people with barriers. We provide our clients with equal access to vocational, lifestyle and employment opportunities.

Their objectives are:
* To promote the skills and abilities of their clients as valuable and productive members of the community.
* To provide vocational and life skills training for their clients.
* To assist their clients in developing and optimising their skills and potential.
* To assist their clients in seeking and gaining jobs in open employment.
* To offer job support to people with disabilities in open employment with a wage which is either award based or part of a legal industrial agreement.
* To co-operate with other businesses, organisations, agencies and service providers (government and non-government) in working towards positive outcomes for their clients.
* To do all things necessary or resolved as required from time to time to allow them to fulfill, expand, implement or administer the objects foresaid.

EP's? areas of operation are as follows:

Disability Employment Services (DES)
* Commonwealth funded by the Dept of Education Employment and Workplace Relations is to help individuals with permanent disability secure and maintain sustainable employment.

Transition to Work (TTW)
* State funded by Family and Community Services- Ageing, Disability and Home Care. A two year employability skills based program that aims to assist school leavers with a disability to achieve employment or vocational education and training or higher education.

Community Participation (CP)
* State funded by Family and Community Services- Ageing, Disability and Home Care providing on-going individualised support to people with a disability through life skill training and community activities.

Refresh Community and Training Cafe Bomaderry
* A not-for-profit caf which provides valuable work experience and life skills training for individuals who may have completed hospitality courses, and who would not normally gain their full potential working within a commercial caf environment. Participating in work experience at the Cafe provides participants with the confidence and skills to move on to mainstream employment.
